Green Tip of the Day: Air It Out
Remember to open your windows early and often–even in the winter–to improve indoor air quality, which is especially important in homes with young children. Forget air purifiers. They require energy to run and generally aren’t designed to remove gaseous pollutants; some ozone-generating purifiers may even produce undesirable gases like formaldehyde. So put on a hat and scarf and let in the breeze. Plants help, too, sucking up carbon dioxide and spitting out sweet oxygen.
